When buying a car:
Here are the documents and information you will need to bring:

• Original Title
• Valid government issued PA Identification Card
• Proof of Insurance
• The current odometer reading
• A Bill of Sale showing the purchase price.  If it’s a gift, buyer and seller must sign an affidavit of gift form.

NEW PA RESIDENTS

Registering your vehicle in PA
 In order to register your vehicle(s), you will need to bring the following items with you:
 

• A valid title for all of the vehicles you want to register in Pennsylvania, 
• Proof of insurance
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License or Pennsylvania Photo ID

If your vehicle is financed or leased, you will also need the loan company's name, address, phone number, fax number, and your account number so we can request the title directly from them. Please be aware that it can take up to 3 weeks for a lender to mail the title.

Vehicle inspection:
A vehicle newly registered in Pennsylvania must be safety inspected within ten (10) days of the registration date.
